Journey Across Africa

Below you'll find stories of my two year experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the small West African country of The Gambia. After my service I traveled solo, with only a small backpack, across West Africa; reaching N'Djamena, Chad after two months. Visa problems for Libya and Civil unrest in the Darfur region of Western Sudan made Chad my last stop.

Hi, thanks for the diary. I am a missionary to Chad so I have a little understanding of the country. Your diary was an enjoyable read such that I would be happy to hear some more of your experiences in Chad, in particular.
Best wishes
Ron

Hi Mike,
I do have one more Nicaraguan blog that you may have missed...it's another volunteer that came in with me in my group last September. Why are you compiling them?

Oh my god. Hi Mike. Formerly MBombey Sallah Khah now Mary S. Amir, MD. Lived as PCV in Kuntair 1983-1984. Kicked out because of famed maryjane scandled. Hear about that.......Now Mom, neurologist, in San Luis Obispo, CA looking for my 5th graders Community Action Project back in Kuntair. She's a reader and wants to donate as many books as possible to the village. Need connections. Hear about Essa Sey, Embassador to U.S.? He was there when I was there. AND, drumroll, I am a Spartan, almost too good to be true! Is that Karma or what! Write back
